he said he would but he cant get a drivers license because he is an illegal alien and doesnt have a social security # but i have known him for like 16 years in the USA, is there any way he can get a social security for being in the USA for that long he was brought here when he was a baby

Bottomline on your question is that if he is illegal he cannot get a social security number...... even if he lived here for 40 years. Even if he did have a social security number he would still have to show proof of being legal to get a license.
And as another said if his parents were legal in any way shape or form they could make him legal. So they have nice cars that are not properly registered to them. So if they hit you you would have to pay for your car and medical bills.
In his case it is a shame really..... he has been here long enough to be basically american as this is the country he knows. But later when it comes to student loans, getting a job, having a bank account and all of that he is screwed. His parents have made sure that he will have difficulty in life.

Of course he can get a drivers license. All he has to do is go back to his own country and get one there.
Now, think of this.... If his parents were legal, they'd have been able to legalise him. That means they are illegals too.
That means they are driving those nice cars without valid licenses, and therefore without insurance. So if they happen to hit you as they're picking him up from school, there's no insurance to pay your medical bills, and you're going to have to pay them all yourself.

They have nice cars because they don't have to pay taxes. Must be nice. For your friend, he cannot get SSI, as he has not been working. Under current programs, he may be eligible if he started working. Either way, thats a powder-keg issue and I would keep at least a one-arms distance from it.
