that John Kennedy's religion caused difficulties for him in running the country? Note: I am not taking sides, just asking a question.

Faith should be no reason to pick a Presidential candidate. Look at our current president (lower case intended) and his laughable christian values.

That ALONE would not take my vote away. Religion or no religion, that criteria ALONE would never make me vote or not vote for anyone. Religion doesn't mean squat until or unless a person uses it.

Kennedy was, IMHO, the last good Democrat. Had he been allowed, and I do mean allowed, to serve a full 8 years, a lot of people (myself included) would probably be on the other side of the aisle about now.

Personally, I am registered (R) but am not afraid to vote either way. Policy should not be dictated by a letter!

Have a great night!

That was in the 60's for Kennedy and unfortunately, our country has become more tolerant on "faith". I wouldn't vote for Romney cause I don't trust nor like him, but his LDS faith does come to play into it. I wonder if he'd try and offer the President of Russia some special undies....

i in my opinion do not think of that it will fee him votes. i think of countless each physique is beginning as much as think of like the way I view it that faith and politics are 2 countless issues and should not be mixed mutually. i seem on the candidate and the themes that they are going to do make this u . s . much greater useful. countless human beings bear in concepts that when the Olympics got here here to Utah and there replaced right into a large number with the committee properly Rommey took over and altered the Olympics around and made it the main suitable Olympics ever so a ways.

I am an agnostic in that I acknowledge the existance of a higher power, but I do not know what that higher power is, and I do not give a crap about that higher power, whatever it is.

Yes, I would refuse to vote for Mitt Romney based on his devotion to the Mormon religion alone. Mormonism is a dangerous cult and I know all about it from some relatives I have that lived in Utah. I am no big fan of the Catholic church either, but Catholicism is no where near as extreme as Mormonism. I would vote for a Jewish candidate, but not for Joseph Lieberman because he is a religious extremist, just like Romney is a religious extremist.

As it is though I do not need to worry about Romney. Romney has no support and will quickly be out of the primaries. There are plenty of reasons to vote against Romney, including his flip flops on every issue since he was Governor Of Massachusetts. Also, Romney was involved in some really dirty dealings on getting the Winter Olympics to Salt Lake City that he has not answered for.

Yes, I would, knowing the LDS history like I do. They have a world domination mentality that dates back to Joseph Smith. This isn't something they will talk about in public with non-members. They do have hopes of having a LDS in the White House.

It would not matter to me; But it will to the Christian Taliban Republicans...

And no; I don't think Kennedy's religion impaired him in any way. In fact, I think, if anything, his presidential agenda was probably emboldened by the fact that he was the first Catholic who was able to win the Presidency in spite of the issue.
