Angel is actually a male name. Ashley and Morgan work both ways, like Leslie. Besides, female names for men = manly.

Usually they have a preference to that name, and it has nothing to do with whether its male or female. You list the name, Ashley. Did you know that it was more commonly used as a male's name? Many names evolve over the years. Morgan can be used as male's name, and has been for some time. Look at Morgan Freedman; I assume he's at least sixty. Usually its just a personal preference though, and the parents think it sounds perfect for their child.

Those names were associated with men several years back, now they have been used by more females. Gone with the Wind had one of the lead men named Ashley. Morgan seems more masculine than feminine to me.Same with Jordans, Camerons and Taylors. i think a lot of last names are now being used a first names.

Stephanie, in Gone With The Wind, Ashley Wilkes (a guy) was Scarlett O'Hara's great love. We all know females can be named Ashley, too. Morgan is either male or female, like Jay can be male or female. Angel is a man's name in Spanish. It is usually a woman's name in English. Andrea is a woman's name in English. Andrea is a man's name in Italian. Many men in Latin cultures may be named Maria, such as my friend Jose Maria. (Basically after Joseph and Mary, parents of Jesus). Just be glad that you aren't like my Korean friend living in the United States with a name like "Bum Suk".
Or else parents can name their children after them, like I got my dad's middle name.
What's in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. (Shakespeare, I think.)
P.S. Bobby, I feel your pain. At least they did not call you "Dick."

Johnny Cash sang about giving the boy a name like "Sue" to make him tough enough to survive the ridicule and taunts.
My daddy left home when I was three
And he didn't leave much to ma and me
Just this old guitar and an empty bottle of booze.
Now, I don't blame him cause he run and hid
But the meanest thing that he ever did
Was before he left, he went and named me "Sue."
And he said: "Son, this world is rough
And if a man's gonna make it, he's gotta be tough
And I knew I wouldn't be there to help ya along.
So I give ya that name and I said goodbye
I knew you'd have to get tough or die
And it's the name that helped to make you strong."

They get beat up every day at school so when they grow up they are tough?
Usually they get a nick name. Killer moran was: Shirley angus moran
No one knew? So he lived in high school, even the teachers wouldn't tell. But some were not so lucky and had to get beat up. I had a name that goes two ways, for a boy or girl.
Terry, I hate that name. What is worse in public my grandmother call me torrance. So on here I am bobby.
Anyone tells my name I give you a computer virus.
It could have been worse, she said they started to call me Peter. Try to live through that one?
