One significant change is that we old-timers didn't have Yahoo Answers around to help us with our general physics homework.

technologically - forward
mentally - backward
intellectually - stationary
physically (universe) - expanding
ecologically - dying
chemically - neutralizing
biologically - growing/overpopulating

those are all the directions i can think of :o)
