Practice, practice, practice. Billiards is a lot more challenging than pool, but both are entertaining. They do not, however, compare to the physical exertion of basketball. I was taught how to play pool by a friend who won the Nevada State Championship. I became very good, but got away from it for several years. If you don't stay on top of it, you lose your touch and your eye. It's all geometry.

I play pool quite well... I have my own cue, and I had an old gentleman who used to hustle pool for a living teach me all he knows. I like bank pool, 8-ball and 9-ball.

Not very well.
The sad part is I have a brand new, beautiful pool table sitting in my living room. It's been there for 2 years. Whenever anyone comes over they assume I can play and offer up a challenge ~ in which I promptly get my butt kicked!! :-p
Then they wonder why on Earth I bought it.
Are they ignorant? Why else?
It looks d*mn good sitting in my living room.

I'm not great at it. But I do have an occasional good shot. But the double bankers I won't even pretend to try and say was intentional.
