Plus size women as being curvy. There are curvy plus size women but somtimes when i look at ads for clothing stores and they have a petite section for the smaller size women and then they always have plus size models in the curvy section and some of them don't even have curves. Is being curvy is considered as plus size now???

The definition of plus size has changed with fashion trends. Today Marilym Monroe would be considered plus. A few years back, in the age of anorexia, she was considered fat. In her day, she was the ideal. Thin women and plus women can both have curves. Petite is a height...NOT a size...so a person can be plus petite. All people should be free to be who and what they are and to make the best of what they've got rather than trying to fit some societal definition of beauty. Lately, if you really look close, many of the beauties are butt ugly under the make up. Almost anyone can look good if they dress to accentuate their best features and minimize the flaws. And it doesn't take millions to do so. Just, avoid trends that don't work for you. Find and define your own style.

not that I agree with it, but i think sometimes curvy is some people's way of saying a woman is overweight. It is almost like how sizes have changed over the years, aka vanity sizing. You can be plus size and not curvy. you can also be a tiny petite 5'2" person who is curvy.
Petite does not mean small by the way. Petite is based solely on your height. It has little to do with your size actually. I am a size 12/14, 5'4" and am considered petite, but also curvy because I have hips and boobs. I am not shaped like a ruler.
Plus size on the other than just usually means that you wear over a size 14. Nothing to do with height or weight unforunately.
If you want to get really crazy with definitions, my mom is a size 14/16, and at talbots (i know fuddy duddy mom store), for jackets, she is a petite, plus size/woman. As if it weren't hard enough to find her a jacket due to her size 16, it is even worse beause she is also petite. go figure.

I guess so. But people have to realize that plus-size and curvy are different, but someone who is plus-size CAN be curvy. But generally, no, plus-size women are not, or at least should not, be automatically considered curvy. And also, some stores/magazines have a plus-size section, so those models do not have to be curvy, but many of them are. It's kind of confusing me, but I hope it makes sense.
