Actually the American Academy of pediatrics says you don't have to do the alcohol at all for the umbilical cord, just keeping it dry is all that is recommended now.

if its sticky or weaping at all then yes, keep using the alcohol. If its clean and dry then you can just clean it along with the rest of her body in the tub.

yes it is best to do so for a week or so just incase of infection after that if it looks clean and there is no dischare or smell it should be fine hope this helps

yes you should still clean it with alcohol my daughters doctor told me to spread her belly button apart and take a cotton swad with alcohol on it and clean it out until it completly closes up

clean it with alchohol or vinegar for a couple more days other than that its just fine

No, you don't have to, but if it would make you feel more comfortable it wont hurt her/him if you continue for a little while.
