I'm planning to visit both Sweden and Norway early next year and I'm wondering, for all of you who have been there, what is it like? Is there anything in particular that I should know? Thanks!

Make sure you have shoes that will keep your feet dry and a rain parka & fleece jacket inside.
I thought Stockholm was a prettier city than Oslo, but Norway has great landscapes of mountains and fjords.
Go way up north to see the northern lights if you want.
Read a good travel guide like "Lonely Planet" guides.
I'd do an overnight train ride up north and sleep in a couchette, then maybe return the next night again on a train.
The old Viking Ships and museums are interesting.
Eat a big breakfast at your hotel. It's like a smorgasbord of enough food for the whole day. A good way to save money.
Drinks and coffee and restaurants are way expensive.
"Let'sGo Scandinavia" has good budget restaurants and listings for hostels and cheaper hotels.
I liked seeing the styles and architecture up there, and the languages are really cool to listen to, like when they inhale to say "ja" (yes). The cities were relatively quiet (but i was coming from NYC, so...) and clean. Design shops are interesting to look at, and the people are big and quiet, nice and straightforward (I found) but I didn't have any great flings there.
