Most GOP candidates have said they want to prosecute all illegal adult pornography makers. What is the definition of illegal adult pornography?? I can't find anything that is not vague and describing obscene material. Is there a definition??

naw child is a whole different issue. These guys are talking about stuff filmed by consenting adults. It's very subjective. I don't see how they can take a stance on it.

good answers so far. It seems it would be a waste of money to go after these people. It used to piss me off when i read an article about .gov going after someone for making adult material. Especially when there is a war going on outside.

Whatever your local community standards say it is.

Almost all relevant definitions of obscenity refer to "community standards of decency".

So something that it's legal to watch in a public theater in New York or San Francisco might be illegal even to watch in your own home in Hicksville, Alabama.

Heck, in Alabama it's even illegal to sell a sex toy such as a vibrator or dildo. (And that's not an old law left over from the 50's... it was passed just in 1999)

Republicans will say whatever they think their audience wants to hear.

There has never been a definition of pornography. What is porno to you might not be porn to me. Consequently, people who film, act or write pornography cannot be prosecuted. It is simply free speech.

There is no such thing as illegal adult pornography.

Google Larry Flynt. He was the publisher of Hustler magazine and fought all the way to the Supreme Court several times for the right to publish his magazine. ..... and won each time.

Rick is right.
However, when th community is the entire internet, it becomes an issue of where it is being produced.

Recently, there was an obscenity case in California against a company called Extreme Associates (Google in news, not images). From what I understand, it was extremely violent.

Illegal adult pornography would probably be things like porn with adults and children in it, child pornography, porn involving incest, snuff films, things like that.
