Wow... This reminds me of my Grandfather last Thanksgiving. He cooked a freezer burnt turkey. It was disgusting.

Even if a turkey from 1982 (I do know many, and I'm sure you do, too)
were still good---it is Tuesday night.....Thanksgiving is Thursday.....it would not thaw......no matter what method you used.

(Thinking to myself...why do I KNOW that the 1st answerer is going to win this 'Jack' question?...Well, duh...she gave a 'Jack' kind of answer). Thinking shut off.........maybe for good.......

OMG from 1982!!!! dear lord! what else is in there!? I would suggest you not use it, just because its 26 years old. but if its frozen , then it was prbably ok. but i think it would be wiser to buy a new one.

No dont give it to your family you would kill them with that old expired turkey. Then they would be in the hospital because you have poisoned them.

Prepare it for them as normal and serve it to them warm. You, however, should have a nice pb&j. Tell them you're on some kind of no-fowl diet.
