Even though I am a Steelers fan I think that the Green Bay Packers should be considered the best NFL team of ALL TIME. Some Steelers and Cowboys fans tend to throw their Super Bowl rings in others faces, but completly ignore Green Bay's championships. Don't forget the Browns have 8 NFL championships to the Steelers 6, but some Steelers fans forget that and rub it in Browns fans faces. So yes. Green Bay SHOULD be the real "America's team". Have fun dealing with the Cowboys bandwagoners with this question.

The Packers are unique in that they are the only American football team that is not owned by a corporation or individual. The fans own the team. Their fans are unique as a result.
The Packers have also won more championships in their history than any other team too. They three-peated twice, Once back the in beginnings of football, they won the last NFL championship game and superbowl 1 and 2. They also won a superbowl with Favre.
There are no general seats available for home games. All of the tickets are season tickets. Even when they are losing, the stands are usually full. Many Season Ticket holders will their seats to their relatives so the season tickets can stay in the family. It's really a great fan base.

Any team in the NFL is American team seeing as they all are American teams!!!
I don't think that your going to find every person agreeing who is American team when it comes down to one!!!
However let's give it a few more years!!! IF the NFL has it's way there will be teams around the world. Then the team that wins from the United State will be "Americans' " team for that year!
Just a little interesting side note Packer and Cowboys aren't even in the American Football Conference. They both belong to the National Football Conference.
Maybe question should read are the Green Bay Packers the New National TEAM.

Packers have the largest fan base, or so ESPN says. that just shows how many Packer bars and fan bases are across the country. we typically prefer to avoid that term, because it sounds dumb and arrogant. you are right, half the opposing team's stadium will be filled with cheeseheads. i know from experienced as i live out west, i went to the previous MNF game @ Denver. other key packer fan bases are Australia, Korea, Japan, and especially Europe. the Packer organization is owned by the people, plays for the people, and has a world class reputation. they were referred to as America's Team in the 60's, but the term itself is so foolish and arrogant, which is why we tried to let it go. makes the team look bad around the world. that is why we try to avoid the term. if you are asking me if they have more fans then the Patriots? maybe. it wouldn't surprise me. more then the steelers or cowboys? maybe, again, it wouldn't surprise me. we Packer fans are everywhere and are very loyal to our team.

Of course! Cheese heads have unrivaled pride in their team because it is so unique. It is actually owned by the people and have stock that was bought when it was first created, so their isn't an actual owner... it's owned by the fans! Of course the there is an alteriate motive... when we go to the games you can wear the cheese head! : )
-Go Packers!

Whether they are America's team or not; They will always be MY team.
I will say this about the Cowboys - Any team with that egomaniac basketcase loudmouth Terrell Owens on it should be America's LEAST favorite team. Guess Cowboys fans have conveniently forgotten the classless way he dissed their whole organization; Right on their center field star when he was a 49er...

Your right that the Packers fans are faithful. Sorry though my Cowboys always have been and always will be America's Team. Do you know why theres a hole in the roof of Texas Stadium? It's so God can watch his favorite team play!

Packer fans do travel well compared to other fans. I don't believe in calling a team America's team but if there was one ,it would probably be them.

So because they travel more means there America's Team?
Dallas Cowboys are still the most popular team by far!
They have more fans and sell more merchandise then any team by far!
You make no sense there is a reason why everybody knows Dallas By America's Team retard
