(b-7) squared

(-1 + 5a) squared

Nsquared - 8n + 16

and...

49xsquared + 56x +9

*Don't tell me I should be doing these myself...If someone tells me the answers to these four problems, I will be able to do the rest of them

Thanks!

(b-7)^2 = (b-7)(b-7) = b^2 -14b+49

(-1+5a)^2 = (-1+5a)(-1+5a) = 1-10a+25a^2

n^2-8n+16= (n-4)(n-4) = (n-4)^2

Sorry I can't get the last one.

Just remember FOIL
F - first x first
O - outside x outside
I - inside x inside
L - last x last
then gather like terms

Remember that squaring means multiplying by itself so do (b-7)(b-7) using the FOIL method (First, Outer, Inner , Last) so you will get b*b - 7*b - 7*b + (-7)*(-7). Then simplify it. The next one is the same idea but the last 2 must be factored. Write (n - )(n - ) and look for 2 numbers whose sum is -8 and whose product is 16 and use these 2 numbers to fill in the blanks. The last one is much harder and you must use a trial and error approach.

Getting the answers is not the point. Doing the problem i.e. reducing it, putting it in a more manageable fashion is the point of a trinomial.
