I want to compare my answer with someone elses so could you list the steps?

well I really don't know because thats what the book says and there are not answers in the back of the book.....

If 3 means x to the cubic power, then:
8 x³ = 6-2
x³ = 4/8 = 0.5, take the cubic root for both sides, you get
x = ³√0.5 = 0.794

If you mean 8x+3+2=6 (I don't know how it makes sense as it's written), the work is:
8x + 3 + 2 = 6
combine like terms
8x + 5 = 6
subtract 5 from both sides
8x + 5 = 6
__- 5 = - 5
8x = 1
divide each side by 8
x = 1/8

8x3=4
x3=1/2
x = 3 square root times 1/2 (it's a small 3)

can you write it again...i want to know if the 8x is multiplied by tree or if it is 8x +3+2

what i get right now is...
8x 3+2 = 6
8x 3+2-2 = 6-2
8x 3 = 4
8x 3 (divided by) 3 = 4 (divided by)3
8x = 1.33333(little dot ontop of 3)
8x / 8 = 1.3 / 8
x = 0.1625
if it is 8x+3+2 = 6
8x+3+2 = 6
8x+5 = 6
8x+5-5 = 6-5
8x = 1
8x/8 = 1/8 (/ = divided by)
x = 0.125 (one eighth)
