Just curious about x-rays. Would a doctor be able to see on an x-ray the difference between someone who like, fell on their arm and it snapped instantly, and someone who was like on their arm and pressure gradually grew and it ended up breaking after a period time. So like.. split second break and gradual fracture?

People don't seem to get my question. Let's say there's a person who falls down the stairs and breaks their wrist in one motion. Let's say there's a person who takes their wrist in one hand and personally breaks it by force.

Would there by a difference on the x-ray?

All an xray will tell you is: its broken, and is it starting to heal (by what's called a callus formation); so if someone saw a callus they would think it was a fracture of some age; but they could not tell if it was broken rapidly or slowly. The only exception is in children, with more flexible bones that tend to bend "greenstick fractures"). Otherwise, in a fully calcified bone, there really isn't the concept of a gradual fracture like I think you are thinking and as I am interpreting your question.

Hi Sweetie,
A gradual break is when u've already started injured r arm & negleted tending care to it, with continue use of it, therefore gradually making it worse. A sudden fracture u feel instantly.
And yes, the Dr. can, with x-rays determine the difference.

If your arm or any bone that's x-rayed and it's broken the break will show up on an x-ray.
