Say you found a huge bag of cash in the middle of nowhere. Would you tell your spouse?

No. Why ruin the surprise? It would be the same if I won the lottery.
Imagine the reaction if for her birthday I bought her some jewelry with money she has no idea I had.
She would appreciate it and me more then if I bought her some jewelry with money she knows I have. But she would then judge the price of the trinket over the thought.

Yes I would tell my spouse about the money. I also would turn the money into the police, and run an ad in the newspaper, that I found the money. It is not my money and it had to belong to someone.
If it was money from an illegal source I would be safe by turning it into the police, I think.
Or you could have found someone's savings and they need it. My spouse would agree with the above response.
Don't get me wrong, my first human impulse would be to keep the money and tell no one, but we all have standards we live by. Tell the spouse and give the money to the police.

I would tell my spouse because keeping secrets can be the start of ruining your marriage. First you're keeping secrets, next she/he finds out, then the trust is lost, then it's all down hill from there. I've learned from my sister's marriage never to keep secrets. She pays for it every day.

You have several options. Go to the police, they will be able to track the owner of the phone if nothing else. Keep it and spend it. Take it back to where you found it drop it off an leave. or.. Call the number in the phone and arrange for pick up. Good Luck with your decision. (Mine would be the first one)

i would. relationships are built on trust. you need to tell the truth if you really love them. if you dont like them or divorcing or breaking up then i would totally keep it a secret!
