In the story of the great Gatsby there are several people and things to name as the cause of his death. It can be placed on Mr.Wilson because he did shoot him (before taking his own life) It could be blamed on Daisy because she hit Myrtle with the car, causing Myrtles death and causing Wilson to become depressed and kill Gatsby ( B/c Wilson saw Gatsby car hit her, assumed it was Gatsby himself driving) It could also be blamed on Tom and myrtle because their affair lead Wilson to insanity
its all a domino affect leading to Wilson eventually going crazy and shooting Gatsby

The fact that daisy keeps leading him on and also that he does not understand that he needs to get over her. His immaturity also. he cannot be upfront with daisy even though he is a grown man. He does not know how to approach her.
He lives a life that revolves around daisy. The only reason he has the big parties is because it is a chance to see her, the only chance. In fact he does not care about the parties if she is not there. Gatsby is living in the past, before he went to war. When he and Daisy were together. He has not been able to abandon that reality and in a way he acts as immature as someone young like that would.
All these things kead to his death, also Nick tells him to leave and that there is nothing for him there but he does not listen..
Anyway go to sparknotes.com everything is there,

No single person; I'd include everyone -- even Gatsby himself. Well, maybe not Nick. It's the attitude of rich people who come from rich families toward class and money, and how Gatsby doesn't understand it at all, that developed a web of circumstances that could only end in his death.

The society in general killed him. But a person I would say daisy or tom. Daisy because she hit myrtles husband and Gatsby had to cover for her. Tom because he placed blame on Gatsby

You for reading the end of chapter 9. If you didn't read, you wouldn't have made him die.

That sounds like a homework question. It would be much easier if you just read the book, you know.
