a lot of people spend a lot of time and effort on the layout. each page usually has a theme. go to a craft store this weekend and just look at all of the stuff they have available for scrapbooks. the background paper has its own aisle.

Sounds like you may be new at this wonderful hobby!
It's always best to start out easy so you don't feel overwhelmed and get discouraged.
Hobby stores such as Hobby Lobby and Michaels have themes already put together with matching papers, cutouts, stickers and more! There is probably even one for BF's!
In the set you would find layout ideas to help you plan your pages- get creative!
Layer papers. Add shapes. Make titles.
If you don't want to write on the pages- print from the computer in cute fonts!
Check out websites or go to your local library and check out a couple of scrapbooking books with lots of ideas!
Have fun.

You'll have lots of fun! There are many stores out there that are especially for scrapbooking. But now- you can find a scrapbooking isle in WalMart, Target, Shopko- practically anywhere.
Fun things to put in your scrapbook might be tickets from the movies and fun decals that look like popcorn on a page with a picture of the two of you after the show. Brads and other fun metal stuff are available- you can use them to put a quote, picture or other embellishment on the page.
If you want to save money- get creative- use clip art from your computer- add sayings that you and your friend like to use. One day your children will laugh and have fun with it, just like mine do about the words I used at their age. Remember- it's about memories, make it your own special place to put all the things you want to remember about your life right now. Enjoy! It's a really fun hobby!

1.) start by getting a plain scrapbook
2.) decorate the front
3.) add notes that you gave each other and other memorable things. buy scrap packs at joann's and michael's. they're little scrapbook decorations that you glue on the page. they come according to theme. (romance, carnival, farm, etc.)
