I have a regular doctor and I always receive a copy of my lab results for personal interest. Should I change physicians, my new doctor would request my medical history from my former doctor.

I have a regular family doctor and have had her for a good 25 years. I do not keep a copy of my medical records, but if I need to see a specialist or a new doctor, I can just have my records released from my family doctor to the new doctor.

I have a regular family doctor back in the UK and tend to get my check-ups when I go back for visits. I only just recently got medical insurance in the US. Guess now I need to get a doctor over here.

I have a regular family doctor. If I have to see another doctor, I'll just go to one of his partners.

It's important to see the same doctor, if possible. That doctor gets to know you and has a record of your illnesses.
