I gave up: Justin Fargas, Jeremy Shockey, and Derek Anderson
I got: Willis McGahee

I'm in first place in my leage at 9-2, and have clinched a playoff spot. At QB I still have Peyton Manning & Ben Roethlisberger, at TE I still have Jason Witten. I had been starting Edgerrin James & Fargas in my two RB spots, will now be Edge & Mcgahee. The person I traded with is 2-9 and in last place. I know it's a lot to give up, but figured I had to give him at least one potential keeper (keep 3 league) in order for the rest of the league to allow the trade. This also opens up a roster spot for me to bring back Javon Walker from the IR spot, along with some random free agent to fill out.

Ya know, you pretty much did the analyzing on this trade yourself. You realize you gave up too much, which you did, and that you can now get Walker out of the IR. Also you have realized that you have people that can start in those places.

Its really not a dumb trade, but with the way that Anderson has been playing this year, I would watch out for this guy next year as a keeper. For those 3 players you probably could have gotten somebody a bit better, but if that is what was part of the trade, then you did a fine job. As it seems you didn't start any of those players, so giving up a couple bench players for a starter is always a good move.

I like the trade even though you gave up too much for McGahee, but you already know that.

It was smart, it helped your team and that is what you needed to do.

Good luck!!

On its face it looks like a dumb trade, but given the details, it isn't so bad. Fargas is no loss, you're fine at QB and Witten is having a super year. If he gets hurt, you'll regret giving up Shockey, but those are the chances you take. Neither James nor McGahee do much for me personally and neither are having great years, so if you're 9-2, you must have some standout WRs.

You didnt really need the players you gave up, but you are not getting much in return. The way i see it is if your tight end would go down you would have a solid replacement, and by having anderson, Roethlisberger, and manning you could have started them based on matchups. Derek Anderson has one of the most favorable matchups for a quarterback the next 5 weeks. I dont think this was a good trade.

That trade was basically Anderson for McGahee. Fargus and Shockey are meaningless.

If you needed a RB then you did what you had to do.
