Actually this is REALLY easy. When the ball is in the air, its acceleraation is ALWAYS -9.8m/s^2 assuming up is positive.

So draw your axis and draw a horizontal line at the value of a =-9.8
a(m/s/s)

a=0--------------------------------------------| -t
| 0.4s
|
-9.8-------------------------------------------

and that's it.....
now you may have to find the total time...if it comes down with speed 2, must go up with speed 2, so
t = (vf -vi)/a
=(-2-2)/(-9.8) = 4/9.8 ~ 0.4 secnd
