Depends on how cold it gets. If just barely freezing then it probably won't hurt. It might get a bit slushy but I doubt it would freeze. However , If it's going down into the 20's or lower you can do serious damage. One thing also, draining it doesn't always work. The engine is lower at the rear and even if you remove the lower hose to drain there is often enough water left to do internal damage. Better to spend a few bucks and put some antifreeze in it.

the water will freeze in the motor and could cause failure depending if there is not enough room to expand. It has to be below 32 or 0 degrees for at least an hour. antifreeze just makes water have a higher flashpoint and freeze point.

If you leave the car sitting overnight, there is the possibility of your engine freezing if there is only water in it and if it is extremely cold out. If water freezes, it expands and that would cause the engine block to crack or more likely for the freeze out plugs to pop.

Antifreeze is a cooling liquid in the radiator. If you have nothing there, your engine will overheat. If you have palin water it might freeze and tear your radiator apart. Good luck!

(your engine may freeze anyway, but it's not a big problem)

If you have plain water in the radiator you need to drain it before it gets cold enough to freeze. freezing water can not only break you radiator, it can crack the engine block as well.

It will be fine, dont drive it or fill it with straight water and leave it in the cold.

IF IT IS COLD ENOUGH OUTSIDE IT WILL FREEZE BUT AT THE SAME TIME IT WILL ALSO CAUSE RUST TO BUILD UP.
