I'm beginning to write a play. Could you give me the format/layout of the structure of a play. Please give me some links to plays of you have them. Throw in some tips if you're interested or care at all.

What you do is , tell a story by writing a scenario or outline of the action of the story, character a does this, and character b does that. etc until the story is told. Then go back and translate the story from the scenario of action into a script of dialogue. But the structure comes from the story. One simple story can be a one act play. A more complex story, a longer play. Read the book Playwriting by Bernard Grebanier.
