Hello,

Let x = the number then
x^2 -9x = 10
Correct

now x^2 -9x -10 = 0 factor and we have (x-10)(x+1) = 0 so
x = 10 a\or x = -1.

Now check

(10)^2 -9*10 = 100 -90 = 10 this one checks
(-1)^2 - 9*(-1) = 1 + 9 = 10 this one also checks

Hope This Helps!!

that is correct...

x^2 - 9x = 10
x^^2 - 9x - 10 = 0
(x-10) (x+1) = 0
x = 10, -1

since this number is supposed to be positive the answer is 10...
