A busser is basically a Server's Assistant or S.A. They help the servers out by keeping tables clean, cleaning up spills, filling ice, etc. Sometimes you may have closing sidework that includes sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming all or part of the restaurant. At some restaurants the servers will tip you out, which means you get a small portion of the tips they made for the evening.

Bussing tables is to clear off the dirty dishes of previous customers, then wipe them clean with a damp towel at a restaurant.

a bus boy or bus girl is the person who cleans the plates off the tables after people are finished eating, and also resets the tables.

In some cases the waitress or waiter also cleans the table.
