I think the main point is they teach us way more than most of us will ever need to use (unless you are an engineer or scientist). I asked my math teacher about it once and she actually had a great explanation. They teach all this pointless stuff so we know it exists. Then, like fifteen years from now if it ever does come up, of course we won't remember, but we will know it exists and then we will be able to know what to look up to get the solution. By the way, I love math but understand how tedious most of it is!

Depending on what you do you may or may not ever need it. But that isn't what is important. My calculus Prof. explained this to me. Learning math, even impractical math, is important because it teaches you how to think logically. It teaches you to analyze a problem and attempt to come to a solution using various rules/theorms/methods. You may never need to graph using slope intercept form, but you will need to think logically for many things in life. Doing difficult math helps prepare your mind for other difficult task. When I started to view my Calculus class in that way it was a lot more enjoyable.

The logic is what's important to learn from mathematics. Even if you do not get into a field of mathematics, the same part of your brain will help you learn languages and help you become an excellent problem solver.
MATH RULES!!

i admire people who hate math. they do no longer understand as quickly as I rob them of their no longer simple make funds. purely sign good here, interest might desire to be pay up front. do no longer subject approximately severe interest as long as you pay on time. $7000 vehicle own loan you pay 3000 you nonetheless owe me 6000. properly it relatively is because you owe me interest.

You probably won't ever need it if you work at a fast food restaurant all your life.
