most average joes, no, the gov yes, it is very profitable for them and their friends. war on drugs has brought in billions of dollars per year for politicians and corporations. war on poverty more money via taxation, very profitable, very little has been used to alleviate poverty, illegal taxes actually cause it, war on terrorism, very profitable, less restictions for corporations to reduce epa standards, reduce wages, reduce unions, (they can fire you with impunity or turn you in as a terrorist thus scaring you silent and compliant), outsource, more money for id's, data bases, camaras and other tools gov use to moniter innocent people. police powers for corporations for security reasons (of course a lie).
more fleeching of tax payers via global warming, enviromental protections (war on property owners very profitable) wars overseas in the middle east, the cold war war 1 and 2 the vietnam war etc, very profitable, war on homelessness more money via taxes that enrich corporations that are given the money with no intention of helping homeless, they just want people to believe these wars are for altruist reasons. all these causes are just excuse to fleech the flock, people of the world. it is a wealth distrubution scheme to funnel profit, property etc upward towards the bankers who ultimatly own all the mega corps and gov.

We like distant wars we see on TV but I don't think we are as individuals a bloodthirsty people, no.
We like technological, clinically clean war, but politically we do not tolerate massive loss of life on our side. Americans were pretty depressed even in WWII when they learned about the slaughter on Iwo Jima and Tarawa.
During Vietnam, which was the last accurate war reporting we ever saw, the TV images repelled and appalled most Americans, as they saw the suffering up close.
So---short answer----we like short, sanitized wars and we tend to support only morally defensible wars. Whenever we get into a morally questionable or unwinnable war, the country does not unite, but divides (like in Vietnam, like now).

I am America, ie I am a warrior. I crave war. I want to kill our enemies. I want our enemies families to suffer, I want every swinging d i c k who attacks my country or it's soldiers to die a thousand deaths through multiple generations.
I will never be anything but a viscous and deadly warrior that protects my country and it's interests.
Yes America likes war, because America doesn't start wars, we finish them. If you think we started the war in Iraq then I have a fat slut democrat that you can vote for that will completely appease you and the murderers that want us all dead.
Even she will eventually learn to like war, because liking war is better than getting killed.

The U.S. has a history of fighting for what it believes in. Generally, the hot wars the U.S. has fought against were against dictators and kings.

Americans LOVE war. That is why we have been in so many wars (big and little ones) and why we continue.
