I have a large amount of classical music records from the 50s and 60s, and I want to sell them. They are all like new, since the people that I aquired them from barely listened to any of them. They are mostly from foriegn ensembles and orchistras. Ebay is not working for me, as the market for these records is probably limited. I was just wondering if anybody had any ideas regarding how or where I should sell them, or if it is even worth trying to.

Craigslist
Amazon.com
Local flea markets
Antique stores (I've bought many vinyl albums from antique stores)
Goodwill stores (I always see sections of vinyl in my local Goodwill stores)
Salvation Army stores

Try selling them on Ebay. Take good pictures of the covers, accurately describe their condition and contents. Group them in sets of three or four per auction. Craigs list may also work if you are near a large city but it will not reach as large an audience. Set a fairly low starting bid but not so low as to give them away. Try three or four sets and see how it goes. The market for old records is highly variable and the covers are sometimes worth more than the records inside.
Good Luck!

I assume you are in the USA. Try and get hold of a copy of the American edition of the UK magazine 'The Gramophone' It has loads of small ads (and display ads) at the back by people wanting to buy old vinyl. I used the magazine some years ago to locate people for the purpose of selling my vinyl collection and was very successful in disposing of it at a good price.

I think it depends on what they are...I'm surprised that Ebay wasn't working out....were you specific enoughin your description of the records? I would suggest, if you didn't already, that you should list the contents of each record, the year, performers, etc. Also, if you didn't list the instrumentation of the pieces, you should do that as well. I can't tell you how many tiomes I have searched under "piano", etc.

Otherwise you could try your local newspaper or on Craigslist.
