Why aren't the men punished in countries where women are, for rape and committing adultery.
It takes two for those things to happen...Do the men think they were enticed to do it...or is it just sexism....Don't they have any women in GOVERNMENT that can change it so there is no harsh punishment for this ???

In Saudi Arabia, where this happened, women have NO rights - at all. They cannot go outside their home without a male escort, cannot drive, cannot attend school or work. They must wear complete coverage. They have no say in the home or the government. They are considered chattle...like goats or sheep.

That poor woman was gang raped by 7 men and SHE gets 200 lashes.

And, these Saudi Princes are friends of the George Bush family. There are pictures showing the King and Bush holding hands. The Bush family has been friends with them for years.

You'll note, that when asked, George Bush had no comment on this most recent abuse of Arabian women.

Any Muslim country.

While rape is a crime in Muslim countries, and a *convicted* rapist will be punished, it is VERY difficult to get a rape conviction under Muslim law.

In the case where the woman has been sentenced to 200 lashes for being in a car with a man before being kidnapped and raped, the rapist were convicted because the man that was in the car with her witnessed the rape, and was able to testify.

A woman cannot legally testify against a man in a Muslim court. Also, Islamic law doesn't allow forensic or circumstantial evidence, only confessions or eye-witness testimony from a male Muslim.

So if a woman reports a rape, the rapist usually can't be convicted unless he confesses, because there is rarely a witness to the crime. If he is NOT convicted, then the woman who filed the complaint is usually charged and convicted of fornication, because by reporting a rape she is held to have admitted that they had sex. Without legal proof that she didn't consent, that's a crime.

Also, of course, even if the woman is not criminally charged, it's common practice in Muslim countries for the father / brother / husband of a rape victim to kill her for bringing shame on him.

Oh, and to answer the last question... of COURSE they don't have any women in Government to change these sorts of laws. Women in most Muslim countries aren't even allowed to VOTE, let alone run for office. A woman in Saudi Arabia commits a crime if she even leaves her house without the permission of a man.

AMEN!!!
That and female mutilation (with is variety of forms) are two reasons why it is perfectly acceptable to say some people are BACKWARDS and IGNORANT. See, I come from the school of thought that common sense affords me the luxury of discerning the right from the truly idiotic. But as of late there has been a growing infestation of frame of thought called relativism. This means that it is okay for you to do whatever you want, I can't judge you. Meanwhile, such an empty brained rationale allows for this kind of crap to fester.
It is thoroughly disgusting, and I think we should be invading these countries and reinstating a more common-sense approach to laws. Granted ours aren't perfect, they're just the best thing devised to date.

Saudi Arabia is now whipping a woman who was raped as a punishment, its a great immoral injustice. She was bing blackmailed by the men and rode in a car with someone besides her husband, which is a crime in that country.

My understanding is that the men are also punished (in most cases at least) - the issue is that women are being punished for rape at all, whether or not the rapist is.

Easy answer: any country where religion controls everything and is all powerful, women will be trampeled on.

Where do we see crap like this happening? In countries where Shari law (Muslim law) exists, in countries that are underdeveloped, etc.

Where does this stuff not happen? In countries where religion is a personal thing and the government is secular: Germany, the US, Canada, etc.
