A team should stop tiring to score when there is less than 2 min, and the other team is out of timeouts.

First of all, "RUNNING UP THE SCORE" should not even be a part of PRO FOOTBALL vocabulary. That is used for POP WARNER. Running up the score is used to say "stop making the other team feel bad". These guys are paid millions of dollars to play football. They are all there for the same reason..... to win!!! Are they suppose to try less, because the other team may cry?!! Too bad! If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. I can't wait to see what the Patriots do to the NYJets... I hope they leave the 'humble pie' home (or throw it in Mangini's face)!!!
Secondly, today (11/20/07) Tom Brady said on WEEI radio, "When else will we have a chance to work on techniques to convert a 4th down? There will be times when converting that 4th down will be the difference in winning a game or losing it." He also said in regards to him getting hurt when they have a good size lead, he could get hurt in the 1st quarter, so using that as an excuse to him is not valid. He also said that all the Pats players love to play football and they all want to play, so they all do.
Thirdly, the DEFENSE is the backbone of this team... they are the veterans... they have 58 years experience among the 1st string.. .they are unstoppable. I don't see Brushchi, Vrabel, Colvin, Thomas or Seau EVER holding back!!

Personally, as much as I would hate for someone or some team to score a lot of points against me, I can't get too upset about it. I would have to look to myself and team for allowing the other team to score so many points or let the game get out of hand to begin with.
Also, I just simply see it as a way to gaurantee victory, especially when there have been strange comebacks before. EX: The Titans allowed Texans to score 29 points in the 4th quarter and it almost bit the team in the a**.

you mean stop calling them classless?
and it will never stop until they lose. As I've stated before, I do not believe in running up the score. If you want to win, then you need to find a way to do it. Don't expect a team to go soft on you because you can't get pass them. But I do believe in using common sense and not making a joke out of it. There is no need to go for 4th down when you're up by 28 pts. That is ridiculous to me. Watching the Pats play isn't entertaining to me because of what they do.
So no, until they lose a game, people will continue to call them classless.

Its not that they should stop trying nor should their defense conceed. Its that they should take the oppurtunity when it is obvious they are going to win to let your second string players get time in a game so that if something should happen to Brady or Moss or any other starters the second string will have experience and not be thrown into a situation that they are not familiar with.....
