Neither. They're birds. Although they are warm blooded like mammals and lay eggs like reptiles, only one feature that chickens and other birds have that mammals, reptiles and other animals don't have and that is feathers. Only chickens and other birds have feathers.

They are birds. Mammals give birth to live young and have hair (fur). Chickens lay eggs, so that automatically rules them out of the mammal category. As for reptiles.....a lot of scientists believe that modern day birds evolved from reptiles. They do resemble them in some ways.
Hope this helped!

Chickens and birds are descendent from last line of Theropod feather dinosaurs. Both reptiles not mammals.

They are birds. But saying the reasons are because they have feather & not fur isn't the reason. When chickens are born from the egg, they do have kind of a fuzzy fur. Also, saying it's because they lay eggs is why is wrong as well because there are a couple mammals (very rare but true) that do lay eggs (think Platypus). So what makes a mammal a mammal is the mammatory glands (breasts basically) where they basically give "suckling to their young" aka breast feeding like humans, dogs, etc. THAT is what makes them not considered mammals & actually birds. Thanks.

Chicken are classified as Avis which is bird. However birds did evolve from reptiles and its commonly believed in the scientific community that chicken is reptile.

They are birds. Actually, chicken's legs are covered with scales. Chickens have a close skeleton resemblence to bipedal dinosaurs, like T.rex, so they are distant relatives of reptiles.

No they are birds. You might be the only one confused in that issue or maybe you are kidding. Next time you see one, see if they have scales like reptiles do or fur like mammals do or maybe check to see if they have wings like birds do.That test should help you sort it out.

They're birds. Birds are descendants of dinosaurs, but most of us still consider them a separate group. Yes, they have scales and feathers (=very modified scales) like their dinosaur ancestors, but they have changed enough from the dinosaurs that they get to be called birds. Of course, at some point new evidence may turn up that convinces enough people that they are just very specialized dinosaurs that they get reclassified, but I wouldn't hold your breath waiting.
