Last week, for the first time ever, I noticed that the moon, while in a crescent stage , was very, very royal blue on the inside of the crescent. I found it very odd and watched it off and on foe over three hours as it moved across the sky. It did not change. Has anyone else ever seen this?

The dark part of the cresent moon is illuminated by Earthshine. The Earthshine can change color, depending on what part of the Earth is toward the Moon, and the cloud cover. Earthshine can often be bluish.
If you think about the geometry, you'll see that the dark part of the crescent moon sees a nearly "full" earth, and so that's when this effect is maximal.

I never noticed that. Did you see the Earthshine? The dark part of the Moon dimly visible next to the crescent? I always think that looks cool!

Well it could possibly be something to do with light relfection, im no astronomer, you should get your eyes tested
