They were in control back then, why didn't they just stay there and continued to rule the arabs?

Yes they were almost bankrupt (Something that the USA is almost too!)

No, the British empire saw the light and let people RULE THEMSELVES.

Perhaps you would like it if we decide that the US is unfit to govern their own people too (look at all the election scandals you have for one thing - doesn't look like a very stable democracy) and reconquer YOU in the name of imperialism? Or perhaps you believe that you have the right to govern yourselves? Well what makes you so different from Arabic nations then?

Blair and his cronies (against the will of the British people who MASSIVELY protested the war) seems to think that was a bad idea. He was an imbecile, the war in Iraq has barely if any support in the UK.

The U.S. isn't a democracy, it's a republic. The founding fathers of the United States knew a democracy would lead to riots and the government would crash.
