Make a flyer with a "Secret Santa Neighbor" Poem or story.
Leave a gift at one or two homes with instructions that they are now St. Nick and for them to bestow someone else with a gift.
This way you save money and you get the entire neighborhood involved in the Spirit of the season!

First of all, this is an amazing idea. I commend you and your mom for your thoughtfulness. I don't really know how much 2 pound is, so that makes it a little difficult for me to answer. I might try to stay away from anything edible because they might not eat something that they don't know where it came from. Maybe a handmade ornament or decoration? If you do it every year you could make an ornament with the year marked on it.

Those ducks and dogs are so cute, I'd love to find one on my doorstep.
Only go for prepackaged food stuffs, that is sealed properly, in this day and age people are wary especially of homebaked goodies from unknown origins.
I love your idea, you should be commended.

for 5.00 u.s. dollars at the local video stores, like blockbusters ect. you can buy a movie rental card, that way they can go pick out the movie they like , sometimes you can get specials, that include popcorn and a drink.
