i want to write but i have no idea about what, so far the books that i've read have symbolism and reoccuring events, is the author aware that he/she is doing it or is it planned out elaborately?

1) Have read a lot of books to begin with
2) Let a character come to mind and let yourself get to know the character rather than forcing one.
3) Get a pen and paper.

There's no one formula. Just keep at it and enjoy what you are doing. I don't know that any author intentionally plans out every symbol and detail, but rather these things sort of occur organically. That's not to say that those sort of things are not put in intentionally, however.

There are many great "Writer's Guides" out there... just go to your local bookstore; there will be a plethora of them.

Good luck!

This question doesn't get an easy answer--as an aspiring writer myself, I know that for a fact!

For one thing, you should have an idea. Definitely, that is #1. It has to be an idea that inspires you--that makes you want to get to a pen and paper (or computer) pronto and start writing.

Symbolism can be incredibly important, but not all books need to be symbolic. Some great books are autobiographical, or else based on history, or are just pure adventure or comedy. "Lord of the Flies" is considered by many to be symbolic of democracy vs. dictatorship; "Journey to the Center of the Earth" was not meant to be symbolic. Both are considered great books.

I think that authors often plan when they want their books to be symbolic (at least in my case) since they have issues they are passionate about that they want to show to other people in a subtler way. But I think that sometimes an idea comes along that is so fantastic they have to start writing, and as they work, symbolism emerges through the process of revision. If you catch my drift.

Good luck! And find some ideas!!

Find something you are interested in and just start getting a rough outline of the plot. Then add the details to make it longer and interesting. They might not always be aware of it but they might. Good Luck.

Write about something you know well and enjoy the knowledge or expertise you have in that topic.

The rest will come as you begin with Chapter One.
