Is it normal to dream after you've lost consciousness or been knocked out?

I was talking to someone today about something that happened a few years ago (has actually happened twice), and I guess I didn't realize it was unusual. To this day, I don't know if I passed out or knocked myself out (long story...I hit my head both times, but don't know if I was already unconscious when I actually hit my head)...but I *distinctly* remember dreaming between the time I blacked out and the time I woke up on the floor.

Is this unusual?

This is a natural phenomena. it may be the brains way of compensating for a loss of stimulus , you are not mad or strange.

I've talked with a lot of folks who've been knocked out and have never heard any of them talk about this. I guess that makes your experience unusual.
