I am doing an essay on world population. Any reasons that might help explain the explosion in population over the last 200 YEARS?

I just finished a college course on human life span and development. Reason given for your question are: people are living longer, better technology, better medical care and medicine, and children are living beyond the age of 5. That should be a starting place for you. Good luck!

improved nutrition and health care means people live longer, a shift from an industrial to a service economy in many of the larger countries (less stress on the body=longer life), populations grow exponentially if the birth rate is greater than 1 which is a level of replacement (if you have two kids and each has two kids, etc.)

new technology...and everything like that
it attracts people from other countries
also...birth control...many more people are getting pregnant than ever before
also....medically we are very good...less people are dying..because we have developed cures and medicines for them

People screwing like rabbits with no regards to weather they can support it or not. Look at all the people screwing & producing rug rats with out even being married.
