Yes pads do feel like diapers so thats why I use tampons. It feels better and less messy! It depends, sometimes it hurts people and others it doesn't. You'll have to try it out and see. They come in a junior flowage/light, regular, super, and super plus. I just use the regular. I'm not exactly sure which kind I use. I've only used a couple and they are like the same to me lol. But you can't leave it in for a long time or you might start leaking. So depending on your flow you could leave it in for 3-5 hours. Its so much nicer!! Your not as self concious all the time either. Its easy to change to. You just pull it out and put a new one in, as in pads you have to do all the messy stuff. I would really recommend using tampons. I'm 16 and I wouldn't use anything else. Good luck!

Have you tried the method with sitting on the toilet, legs comfortably apart? You don't want to put it into your anus {your butt} you want the whole before that. If you're unsure if you have the right place, try to put your finger in. You'll know if you're at your anus, and no other place than your vaginal opening and anus will allow your finger to enter. Once you are sure you have the right hole, place the tampon into it, and take your time inserting. Some women don't have heavy flows, and inserting too quickly can cause severe irritation. Try Playtex Slimfits for a while, they are almost pencil thin, and they work wonderfully. They will also be so small that you won't feel it no matter which way you move, as some larger tampons can do. My best advice is to go slow, and always relax. If you tense up, you can actually cause your inner walls to contract, and make it near impossible to insert your tampon. You must also relax to remove it. PS Look for plastic or pearl coated applicators with a covered tip that opens once you push the tampon out. This will help it glide in easier, and cause less resistance. Another PS, I just remembered something I learned in health class. There are a number of different hymens girls can have, and one of them is a hymen that completely covers the vaginal opening, but has small holes throughout the hymen, kind of like a honeycomb. If you have this kind of a hymen, you might have to talk to your doctor about inserting tampons, and later before you are intimate with a man. These types of hymen are rarer than the other three forms, but they aren't bad, and they aren't unheard of. I wish you luck. :)
oh try to put vasciline on the tampoon it will go rigth in

Hello, I started using tampons at 15, I was a virgin and it was uncomfortable/sore the first time I used them. The whole week I was a little sore but after that they were fine. They come in small sizes for younger girls. I would try Playtex Gentle Glide because they are smaller and dont hurt, try regular if you dont have a really heavy flow.
Benefits are that you can play sports without being uncomfortable and if you wear a panty liner you have a little better protection without the diaper feel. I love Tampons because I dont worry as much about leaks. You should try them for two periods to find out if you like them.

Tampons are so much better but you will want to use a back up like a panty liner with it just in case. I use Tampax pearl. Use the plastic ones they are so much easier to get in than the cardboard ones! If you put them in the right way they don't hurt and you won't feel it when you get it in. Every box of tampons comes with a paper inside with directions on how to use them. I suggest your first time to relax, and take your time. Don't give up if you don't get it right the first couple trys.
They are also much better if you are active like playing sports as you don't have to worry about leaking. I agree with you.....pads feel like diapers! Good luck. I was about your age when I started using them. Sizes are light, regular, super, and super plus. Light is for when you have light bleeding and you go up in sizes depending on how heavy you are bleeding.

Use pearl, they come in all sizes, light, medium, super and extra super.
I would say use the light or the medium if you've never had sex or masterbated or anything. It may hurt at first but its defaintly worth it! sports and pads dont mix because they may move around and the blood gets everywhere. ALso with tampons there isnt a smell and you dont have that uncomfortable feeling of blood squirting out!!!
i use pearl and i love it.
if you do use a tampon makesure you change it!!!!! if you dont you can get a disease called tts which may kill you!! always change your tampon like every 4 hours!!!! goodluck young buck

Get the Pearl Tampons that are small. Those are easy to put in and they are absorbant. You can use the bigger tampons once you get used to them. They are much easier and when you put a tampon in right, you'll forget they are there.

Start off with Playtex Gentle Glide.
They are the easiest and most comfortable to start off with (in my opinion).
You should start off with the medium-sized...I don't know what it's called. But yeah, do that and then work your way up until you find which size works best for you.

i was always scared to use tampons, but trust me. they are sooo much easier. they are cheaper, more absorbent, and you wont feel like you're wearing a diaper. they dont hurt at all to put in and once its in, you cant even feel it.
people say its not good to sleep in them, but its perfectly safe. just put a fresh one in before bed or a softball game. you never now if theres gonna be a bathroom available.
they come in junior, regular, and super. it depends on if your flow is heavy or light. i use tampax pearl. playtex sport is good too.
have your mom take you
good luck
