Dry ice is made from liquid carbon dioxide (CO2), which you can buy from industrial gas suppliers. Burning any sort of organic material produces CO2. For commercial purposes, liquid CO2 is usually made by burning hydrocarbon fuels, often natural gas, then purifying and compressing the exhaust.

If you're looking to buy some, you can often buy small quantities from the meat or fish department of your supermarket.

It is made in a factory, or a machine, but it is frozen compressed gas, that is what makes it so cold, when it is compressed to a certain degree, then frozen, it makes dry ice. It is not "found".
