I need to make something to take to my parent's house for Thanksgiving. Any suggestions? Please keep in mind that I'm not the best cook, but I do need to make something! Thanks!

The family doesn't care what I bring. Appetizers, sides, or deserts. They have the main things taken care of.

Go get a cheese-log and a bunch of crackers and put them on a plate all fancy-like.

Sounds cheesy (hah) but it's really quite good, and definitely not hard to make.

Potatoe salad......you simply boil your potatoes, and when they get done, you drain them, and then put them in a bowl, and add mayo, sweet cubed pickles, and some chopped up boiled eggs, and 1-2 teaspoons mustard.Mix together and you can eat it warm, or cool.I like mine cool the best!

You can also make a chocolate cake...just follow the simple steps on the back of the box.You can really cook any flavor cake that you like wether it be lemon, carrot, vanilla...ect.....just follow directions on the back of the box.

You could also do a banana pudding...you can use the instant vanilla pudding mix so it is more simple.
You simply get you a pan, and put a layer of vanilla wafer cookies on the bottom and a layer of sliced bananas, and another layer of cookies, and another layer of bananas...ect...
Don't feel completly to the rim...allow about 1/2 inch.
then you just mix the vanilla pudding mix with milk, and pour on top of your layers until you feel the pan.
read the instant vanilla pudding mix for how much milk to use.

I know alot more recipes, but I thought these were more simple.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ask them if you should bring a desert, or a sidedish. For a desert, just do a simple pie. If you're lazy, get a storebought pie. Sidedishes are easy. You can phone it in with a Green Bean Casserole, a can of Cranberry auce, or if you actually want to cook, bake your own dinner rolls.

i cant cook either and this is very simple, and tastes GREAT!!! Best of all it will look like you worked hard on it! :-)

Ice Cream Jell-O:
1 Large Box Strawberry Jell-O
1 Box Frozen Strawberries
½ Gallon Vanilla Ice Cream (you’ll only use half of this)

Directions:
Let ice cream thaw until it looks like milk. Boil 2 cups water and add jell-o mix. Stir well. Mix in ice cream. Add in frozen strawberries. Refrigerate 5 hours.

***After 5 hours, there will magically be 2 layers, one of ice cream and one of jello. (both will have the berries in them!!!

Green beans with mushroom soup on them... that's my favorite and it's easy to make. Also, you could bring a few cans of cranberry sauce. Ocean Spray makes the best cranberry sauce.

Cheesy Hash Brown Casserole

Prep time15 Min
Cook time 45 Min
Makes 1 - 9x13 inch dish (Coat with non-stick spray!)
US Metric

INGREDIENTS:
1 pound frozen hash brown potatoes
2 (10.75 ounce) cans your favorite condensed cream soup (I prefer chicken or mushroom, some like celery)
1 small onion, chopped (Optional)
1 pint sour cream
2 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste, or your favorite seasonings (I like McCormick's Seasoned Salt, black pepper, and a couple dashes of thyme.)
4 1/2 cups crispy rice cereal squares (Measure, then crush)
2/3 cup butter, melt

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees farenheit (165 celsius.)
Place hash browns in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. In a medium bowl, stir together soup, onion (if desired), sour cream, cheese, salt and pepper until well combined. Pour over hash browns. Mix crushed cereal with the melted butter, then sprinkle mixture over soup layer. (If desired, cover and let rest in refrigerator up to 24 hours.)

Bake in preheated oven 45 minutes, until golden, hot and bubbly. YUM!
