In New York there is a large company called City Scrap Metal which I know just comes to you, weighs and pays you on site.
Otherwise I would just search google, or ask . com (It's a given, I know lol)

Look in the phone book under scrap and salvage. If you live in a city, look under recycling.

Look up recycleing in your local area. They take cans and all types of things..if you cant find that ask the local bumb pushing the cart full of coke cans..He probably isn't going to build a house wit those..

A metal recycler. They normally buy the truckload, not a few pounds.

you should try posting an ad online [www.craigslist.org] theres all kinds of stuff there just imput your city and what type of thing you are in need of or sell for example you can go down to the "FOR SALE" link and go to materials or auto, crafts, parts etc. and you can post an ad for free and people will pay for what you ask. just becareful with scammers like people willing to pay way over your asking price [tend to deal with locals] . Good Luck!! =]
