i needed help with this question..which do u think it could be?

Which of the following sentences uses the hyphen correctly, and why?

a) She gave birth to an eight pound baby. or

and also this one, which is similar:

The rule is: Use a hyphen to join two or more words serving as a single adjective before a noun. This comes from:

Another answer gave this reference also, but somehow both parts of that answer were wrong.

You don't need to use hyphens in any of these sentences ;-)
