Fishing in Virginia?

Question

I promised my son to take fishing this weekend. Does anyone know good fishing area?
I am single parent and don’t have enough time to enjoy with my 8 years old son. I really need spend good time with him this weekend. Please help, I live close to Dulles Airport and I am looking for any fishing point close to my home, may be 1-2 hrs drive. Thanks guys.

While this is on the outskirts of your drive time, I can suggest the James River just below the City of Richmond.

There is an area called Bermuda Hundred in the area of Drewry's Bluff. It is a deep hole and a haven for some huge catfish! There is a dock near Henricus Park in Chesterfield that I would suggest that you put in at. To get there, take I-95 south across the James River. At Route 10, head east. Get in the left lane immediately and follow the signage.
