I have a window vista on my laptop. Im trying to figure out how to load linux operating system without uninstalling window, so that i can use both operating system.
Can someone guide me through

Either partition the drive and put Linux on the 2nd partition...then at startup, when it asks, choose which you want to load
Or get a self contained linux distro that can be run from a CD or USB drive. When you want linux run the disc or plug the key when you want windows dont.

You can but there's more involved than I think you'd want. Your best option, in my opinion, would be to buy a 1gb USB drive and load the Linux OS on there; any external usb drive would work as long as there's enough space.

Linux drives are a different format than Windows. There's software like Mandrake that you can use but it's always best to do it the right way.

I don't know what your purpose for doing this is, if it's to just experiment or what, but it's not worth the headache.

Hi. You will need to partition the drive and put Linux on the second partition. Dual boot systems seem to work just fine but you add a step on boot, selecting the OS.

Install Linux in a folder within windows..(makes it a "virtual"
system)..works good...to remove-just delete the folder....

i heard that u can install "damn small linux" on windows and use it while running windows

tho ive never used linux
