The easiest way is to call and ask. You can try a site like infospace.com but even if their number is listed it will still only give you the town, not any specific details.

area code doesn't mean squat. Tracfone will let you switch to any area code you want with the click of a mouse. I bought a phone specifically for seeing what our competitors are charging, I bought a prepaid phone at a local gas station, went online and got assigned an area code 2000 miles from where I am. Works great because they get a number in another city that they can call back to, and my local area code doesn't give it away. ;-) So, there is no way to find out where someone lives by a phone number alone.

Most cell phones now have GPS location on them, and by using a GPS locater you can fine were someone is calling from if the phone is left on. It only takes a few minutes to do. This was added to cell phones because people traveling around the country would call for help and no one could help them because there was no way to track the call other than triangulation between towers which was time consuming and the phone had to stay on for the full time. This is how the North Star program in GM vechiles also works, GPS tracking!BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU!

The only way you could do that is if the phone had a GPS so the company could track it or like Sprint you can have the 'family trackek' and keep track that way (only on certain phone with Sprint) Most phones today have GPS for that reason.
PS- They will most likely want a reason why you want to know where this person is. Also passwords, etc

No, my cell is from a town that is over 60 miles away. My son was living in NC with a TX cell. So you see there is really no way of knowing.

reverse phone number search compiles hundreds of millions of phone book records to help locate the owner's name, location, time zone, email and other public information.
Use a reverse phone lookup to:
Get the identity of an unknown caller.
Identify an area code.
Recall the name of a person whose number you wrote down.
Identify an unfamiliar phone number that shows up on your bill.

your service provider can tell you "ball park" area of where a cell calls are originated from or destined to,but they cant tell you where actually a cell holder lives. When a cell phone is being used its signals go through certaaaaain receptors closest to its location and thats how they can tell where a call was placed from within few miles.

You cant because if they moved and kept the cell it could have a different area code. If the person wanted you to know that person would have told you.
