No, you are more likely to absorb and retain more fat if you binge eat after fasting. Just eat normally and go back for seconds a couple hours after the meal if you want to eat more.
Fasting usually only shows good medical, mental and physical benefits when done right (usually drink lots of water and reduce what you eat before cutting off food completely) for at least 3 days.
Sometimes doing it for 1 day is ok, if your body is already prepared by previous fasting. Just fasting one day when your body isn't used to it will not do anything. Your stomach won't be able to hold more food and you won't lose weight.

I, as a former sufferer of an etaing disorder, or extreme dieting, food issues.
would never suggest completely starving yourself.
It's just not a good idea.
I have found that , particularly on Thanksgiving, a similar thing happens to me, it doesn't take alot to fill me up, and I feel tired about an hour afterward.
But, that's not strange, there's something about turkey that makes one drowsy, I actually had a psychologist once tell me to make a little turkey sandwich if I had insomnia/problems sleeping, it kind of works...i've tried it.
My advice is to have one good filling meal on wednesday, and then up until dinner on thursday, have perhaps two light snacks/something to munch on, most people need to eat to keep fueled throughout the day, you may not need the food to keep your energy up, but it's better for your body, think of it as an appetizer.
Also, don't forget, it is a family function, and those are traditionally somewhat boring, it can't be helped, it's just one of those occasions...we HAVE to sit through & tolerate, because it's a holiday, and we're supposed to be celebrating!!!

Dont fast because when you do eat you are going to get really full really quick. Just eat light like a chicken salad and drink lots of water. Fasting is great sometimes. But not at Thanksgiving. You will be disappointed when you get into five bites and are done and/or over stuffed. Eat baby!

Fasting can be dangerous and won't necessarily suppress your appetite. A lot of people don't realize that fasting "alters your metabolism in a way that actually may make it harder for you to lose weight."
If you're trying to consumer fewer calories on Thanksgiving Day, try eating some fresh fruit and vegetables like apples, carrots, celery before the big meal. And drink plenty of water. You'll feel full and will be less likely to go overboard.

Fasting isn't really healthy but it IS a good idea to eat light. Like, maybe the day before have fruit and toast for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch (or soup. Soup will give you the feeling of being full and no longer hungry, but is light) and then a caesar salad or more soup or anything with rice (if you like asian food, eat that. It's fairly light, depending). Just stay away from pasta, lots of bread, heavy meats (poultry and fish is good though) and eat healthily.

I don't like fasting because it makes me spacey. Some people think it is good for your body as a way to purify yourself, but that is only when you do it for a whole week with careful monitoring - you don't actually eat nothing, you just eat very healthy easy to digest foods. But that is not what you are talking about. If you are bored, try reading a good book - Diet and Nutrition by Robert Ballentine, MD. Or any book about nutrition will educate you and inspire you to eat a balanced diet and live a balanced life. To me, fasting does not equal balance. I think it is extreme.

ah alot of ppl do that.. but why put urself through so much misery? If ur like most of us we love to eat! Why not just eat lightly the day before and snack on some healthy veggies and fruit and drink lots of water before your thanksgiving dinner..
then when u eat try eating small portions of everything.. that way you can try a little of everything without over doing it!

The opposite happens if you fast! If you don't eat anything, your stomach will shrink. This makes it harder to eat more the next day. Even if it is only for a day! Eat like you normally would. This way you won't put strain on your stomach and you can eat more.
Its alright to gorge yourself on occasion. Just split the gorging evenly so you won't have an upset stomach. Happy Thanksgiving!

well fasting and staving is two different things as people that fast do have times that they eat.
staving on the other hand is not a good idea as you will just end up eating more then you usually do as you might just stuff yourself thinking that you haven't eaten and you will be feeling more hungry.
best thing eat but don't eat a lot have very small portion

I don't think you should fast but just eat lightly. I also eat a lot so lately I've been asking myself "am I really hungry?" before I even touch food. so yeah...don't fast but eat lightly. eat maybe cereal for breakfast, something light for lunch, and soup for dinner? try not to eat a lot of snacks and if youre really really hungry then grab something like an apple. itll fill you for a little while but youll get your appitite back quickly.
