I'm willing to learn how to drive stick shift just to get that car. I'm interested in getting the IX or V generation Lancer Evo.

The Lancer Evos are very good cars. I wouldn't advise for you to learn how to drive a stick in that car though. I'd wait until you were experienced in driving a stick before purchasing the car. You don't want to burn out the clutch and ruin the transmission just because you want to learn or drive the car. I'd recommend getting the Evo IX over the V. It's lighter and handles better.

The EVO is a great car. You'll need to learn to drive (it's a race car for the street) not just learn to drive stick. While working at the Mits Dealer as a Master Tech I saw quite a few EVOs come in to the body shop because the drivers thought they new how to drive and either hit a tree or missed the turn while "driving" hard.

OK if u`r willing to learn to drive stick shift and u want to buy and evo for that i don`t recommend because i will ruin the clutch and the transmission very very quickly , but u can buy for a month or so a cheap Honda with manual transmission to learn and then go for the evo !
i have one and is the best car i ever owned

its worth to learn to drive stick just for that car
its a very good car , im guessing your gonna be street racing
since the evo is made for racing. Also you might wanna learn to drive stick on another car 1st not the evo. It can keep up with cars triple its value so you get alot for what you pay for. Good Luck

hey man i drive a yellow 03 evo VIII they are great cars. they are fun to drive in all weather snow makes it better so you can slide around. the AWD is a nice thing to have also, you can do minor mods to these cars and have 350+ to the wheels. Just get exhaust downpipe test pipe fuel pump intake boost controller and a tune you will be sitting around 350 wheel hp :) gl hope you pick up a evo they are GREAT cars!

If you are rich, then get the car. It is one of the most fun cars to drive and its faster than a BMW M3 and Audi RS4 in acceleration.
But its gas mileage is bad, it has very high insurance, its also the least reliable Japenese car.

yeah theyre great and fast cars but for learning how to drive stick u should let someone show u first or ull ruin the clutch and that is very expensive.

well i drove my friend's MR edition, it sucked gas like v8 when used real hard (hard driving) but it can be gas saver if u are easy on pedal.i shouldnt get that car cuz of cops know it is fast. i took it to 165 mph bone stock. my friend turned off the speed limiter as well as rev limiter.
