They sure do !!
My old roommate.. before she was my roommate.. she lived at home with her dad and step mom. Well for one whole summer her dad and step mom went to Israel and Europe and all.. and during that time my roommate was watching and caring for the dog, a Chow, named Chin.. he was just BEAUTIFUL !! Anyway.. as soon as her dad left.. Chin went into a slump. All he would do was lay on her dad's side of the bed.. (I guess he could still smell him on the sheets??) and he refused to eat. Marlene (my friend) she had to feed him by hand.. it was that sad. He wouldn't play.. he didn't want to go for walks.. nothing !
It was really sad.. but the long and short was, Chin was just depressed.
Anyway, as soon as her dad came back .. all of a sudden.. Chin just pepped back up, and wanted to play and was back to his old self.
So yes.. animals do feel feelings.. the love certain humans more than others, they get jealous.. and they get depressed.. they do have feelings..
I have a quick jealousy store too.. we took in a street cat.. all black and we named him Skittles.. any way skittles got really attached to my husband.. (he was home more).. and one day I came home from work .. after a particiularly bad day.. and I just put my head on my husband's lap and cried.. well while I was having my break down.. Skittles saw me with my head on my husband's lap.. lost it.. tried to get on his lap too.. my husband pushed him off.. and then Skittles disappeared.. where'd he go?? He went into the closet, and my husband wanted to see what he was doing so we get up .. and the cat was so angry it was taking a dump in my husband's shoes !!
So animals definately feel things.. no doubt !

They say animals get depressed, but I don't believe they really do. I think that would be the anthropomorphism from too many years of Disney movies talking.
