This question is for Chicago Cubs fans only, I would like to ask Chicago Cubs fans this question, that made news today. John McDonough has resigned from the Chicago Cubs as team president, after one year on the job, and after 24 years of being on the Chicago Cubs, and he has taken the same job that he was doing this past year with the Chicago Cubs, and even with the team up for sale this offseason, and he has taken the president's job of the Chicago Blackhawks. And so John McDonough is going from a team that has faired very well in attendance for home games, and he is going to a team that has not faired well in attendance for home games, and also a team that very rarely (if ever) shows thier home games on TV. And also let's not have this happen every year, where the Chicago Cubs have to look for a new team president every off season.

Well I am not a Cubs fan but I think this was a good move for McDonough more than anything seeing as how no one knows if he would have had a job once the team is sold...he was only the Cubs president for a year so you can't really say how good or bad a team president he was...now with the Blackhawks he is with a team that is in a different place than the Cubs but the Hawks are in an overhaul right now and have done a complete 180 on how to approach the game and the fans...the Hawks have started having a few home games on tv this year (with I am guessing most of them on tv next year), a new president, and I am guessing more changes to come...I think this gave him an opportunity for him to help rebuild a club and have a little job security in the process.

when i had heard it on the radio i was not to upset that he had left to run the blackhawks but i hope that he will be happy with the new team that he's with and if not lets just hope that he would go back to the cubs. i was supriesed that he had left only after one season as the team president of the cubs. now i worry who will be the next team president for the cubs though

ehh I'm 15 and a life long Cubs fan
McDonough's been with us for a really long time
he barely became our president this year, we didn't win it all, so he's resigning and might follow Andy McPhail's path
haha I think it would be awesome if someone like Billy Williams or Andre Dawson would come and be president of the Cubs
isn't Dawson with the Marlin's though? or is it Billy?
personally I feel Mr. Cub is too old to be president of such a huge organization so I'd say no to him
Ron Santo is perfectly fine with Pat Hughe's and it would suck not having Ron on the radio for our games

point is, we can sooooo easily move on
hopefully we can get a good president that will let us make some awesome trades!

As a Blackhawks fan - awesome! I will not go into all the reasons why, but I say that what he said on AM 1000 yesterday, was right on.
He left the Cubs for an obvious reason - they are being sold, and he will lose his job probably. He is a marketing guy. That is what he is. And he will help pack the house again - with the help of Kane and Toews.
