Carole Simpson, who worked at ABC news and is now a jornalist instructor admitted she is a Hillary supporter. Do you think it wise for reporters to come out and admit who they support.
It was an unorthodox political endorsement, to be sure. And in throwing her support behind presidential candidate Hillary Clinton with an unprompted, heartfelt speech at a New Hampshire rally last month, Carole Simpson, the longtime ABC news anchor-turned-Emerson College journalism instructor, flung herself into the partisan fires.

I wish more reporters would come out....at least we would know why they spin an issue the way they do. I can now read this reporters article and know for a fact it's biased.

Well, she isn't a reporter any longer first of all. I don't think it's that big of a deal myself, but she'll land on her feet. As she said herself, it was probably unwise, but apparently not too much so as she offered her resignation and the college turned it down. She isn't going to teach any more political journalism classes if she decides to campaign for Hillary - and Hillary's campaign has offered her a job. Hmm...All in all it seems to have turned out to be a profitable mistake she made. Her face is in the news again and she now has more job opportunities.
EDIT:
If you're going to use a source it pays to actually read it. Hillary Clinton did not express concern at all, and ended up offering her a job with her campaign. The article said:
"While Clinton was quite taken by the unexpected backing, quickly issuing a press release touting it, others have taken offense."
And what do you mean by "Clinton gets a pass." A pass for what? She didn't do anything lol.

Yes.
All the journalists on ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, & CNN are supporting Hillary for President.
They've all been doing that since 1993.

you said "I guess Hillary gets a free pass"?
what?
and she's not a journalist anymore, but a teacher...
and she gave her letter of resignation... although it was turned down...
it's an issue for Emerson College sounds like...

I'm an educator. I support a candidate, but when I am teaching I try to stay away from it. I trust a reporter to report as objectively as possible unless they are writing an op-ed.

She's an instructor now. She can endorse a candidate if she chooses.
Obviously, most journalists are going to vote for somebody. The important thing is that it doesn't influence their work. That's called journalistic integrity.

The woman in question is no longer a journalist or a reporter.
Therefore your question is based on a false premise.
you should have asked if professors should endorse candidates
This seems to been missed by you and most of the answersers.
Same goes for the thumbs down person
