If socialized health care(Hillarycare) isn't big government, I'll kiss your ***.

Bush certainly has grown the government. He is no conservative and is losing the support of a lot of conservatives. The fact that he spends money like a liberal certainly doesn't prove that liberals don't want big government. They are constantly promising to increase the role of government if elected. Most of them want socialized medicine which would have the government controlling one seventh of the economy. The majority of Congress is liberal and they approve the spending that Bush proposes. They want to spend a lot more, just not on the military.

Hillary wants to nationalize health care and let the government run it.

Please note who set the standard for the expansion of government was FDR a liberal democrat.

Liberals also want to regulate the type of car you drive, raise your taxes etx.

Just look at the programs the democrats want.

Because Repubes have to run a campaign that deals with SMEARING and LYING about the Democratic candidates. If they ran on a platform of explaining their own goals for the country, they would lose everytime.

That explains why Republicans love to make people afraid of anything so that voters run towards them. They need to satanize Dems in order to win. It is no coincidence that "terrorists are coming" and "the gays are taking over" was a constant Republican theme in 2000 and 2004. This year, however, that theme is hackeneyed and therefore ineffective. Their new theme is "the immigrants are coming".

Govt healthcare will be the easiest way to enlarge govt. Imagine those workers at the DMV making decisions about your health. Imagine special interest groups dividing up the govt dollar to fund more treatments for diseases that have more publicity and lobbyists behind them.

Right-wingers just have different priorities. Under Bush and a Republican congress, government increased at a faster rate then it did under Clinton. Their spending priorities include military programs, wiretapping Americans, and giving outsubsidies and rewards to oil corporations and other special fundraising groups.

The Taliban believes in using government to restrict social decisions based on their ultra-conservative view of the Koran. I wouldn't call them "big government liberals."

The religious right in America has the same general beliefs, althought not as right-wing. They believe in using government to restrict social decisions based on their conservative interpretation of the Bible. Liberals on the other hand are live and let live on social issues.

Because they stay the course. It doesn't matter what else affects the situation, just stay that course. Good, bad, explosions, and little rays of sunshine all get the same response. That's the mindset of the people who blindly follow the neo-cons. Sadly, the neo-cons are just trying to take advantage of them in order to change the Republican party under their noses.

Here's the problem: they only read or listen to or watch those media outlets that feed their fears and tell them what they want to hear, which mainly consists of these old 1950 lies and stereotypes ("welfare queens," "socialist health care," "love it or leave it," etc.). Without any new information coming in, they are caught in an endless spiral of repeating the same spin and talking points. They cannot have any new ideas because they aren't analyzing or researching anything for themselves. This is the fate of a parrot.
